Limitless Sonora Gold Roasted Pine HB/P90 (2022)

2022 Limitless Sonora Gold "VOS" – roasted pine body! A fantastic demo guitar, live-approved by Meister Ede.

We're an official Limitless Custom Guitars dealer. Carsten Reetz builds guitars at the very highest level, entirely on his own – masterbuilt, more or less. This one is THE showroom guitar: a good few Sonoras have already been ordered on the strength of it, which is why Carsten didn't really want to sell it. Meister Ede borrowed it to try out the pickup set for his next Sonora on stage, and it was so convincing that we simply had to make it available to our customers.

The Sonora uses selected roasted pine for the body, which makes this beauty extremely light at just 3.21 kg and stable in changing conditions. Take a look at the roasted flame maple neck (an extra-cost option) with its gorgeous East Indian rosewood fretboard. It's a comfortable medium 'C' – not too thin, not too fat, it just feels right – and the 10"–14" compound radius is a joy to play.

The pickups are very dynamic Häussels. The HB Classic in the bridge sounds punchy and warm without burying the guitar's character under too much output, and a push/push pot splits it in a really musical way. In the neck there's a 1953N for juicy P90 sounds. Both pickups are especially dynamic with a wide frequency range. If you think this guitar only shines with gain, you've got to try the woody clean sounds!

To open up the options further, this Sonora got a Göldo LT2 tremolo, which does a great job and gives the guitar a look all its own. It comes with an as-new Limitless Hiscox case and a subtle, attractive used look that's developed naturally from its life as a test guitar.
