'23 Baboushka Guitars Stardust "Stone Grey" antique pine, first owner, roasted neck, handwound pickups, kill switch, only 3.66 kg and more
A one-off from Berlin for €1,990 instead of the €3,290 new price – hesitate and you'll miss out!
This Stardust found its first owner with us back then and is now back from first hand. Baboushka Guitars builds extravagant boutique guitars, handmade in Berlin. If you don't know the maker yet, we recommend their informative website: baboushkaguitars.com
We present a wonderful, unique example of the Baboushka Stardust in the "Stone" version. Alongside the antique Stone Grey nitro finish, the red gemstone gives this guitar its fitting name. A real eye-catcher with authentic ageing and shabby chic charm. The love of detail also shows in the fretboard inlays, the knobs and the whole appearance of this beauty. The body is made of antique, wild grown pine.
The roasted neck of Canadian hard maple, with its soft C profile, 9.5" radius and comfortable medium jumbo frets, is set up for optimal playability.
Matched to it are a bluesy, warm handwound Q-Pickups P90 in the neck and a fitting Leosounds custom handwound single coil in the bridge.
We have rarely heard such a wealth of sounds from a comparable pickup combination. The neck pickup is not wired to the tone pot and therefore delivers 100% of its frequencies. This lets you adjust the treble of the bridge pickup freely with the tone pot. We recommend rolling the pot back slightly – and for more twang, turning it all the way up.
The tone pot is extremely effective and, with overdriven sounds, also delivers wah-like "woman tone" sounds and many other facets. Also note the kill switch function of the 4-way switch!
This Stardust has a beguiling, very musical compression in its tone that's addictive! From jazz to blues to rock, everything is possible. Fans of experimental music should find plenty of joy and inspiration too: add a little delay or fuzz and fascinating soundscapes emerge. And at only 3.66 kg it sits comfortably light on the strap.
Our videos give an impression of the sound: the current video comes first. The second video (clean) was already recorded in 2023, right after the guitar arrived with us.
The guitar comes from its first owner and includes the original case, certificate and spec sheet, as pictured.
