If you want an SG but not another Cherry Red, look closely at this one. This Gibson SG Standard '61 Stop Bar comes in the exclusive Gold Mist Poly — a restrained, classy, softly shimmering finish from the limited 2026 Exclusive run that you won't see on every corner.
Ours is in as-new condition and comes with all the accessories including the original Gibson hardshell case. And here's the best part: it weighs just 3.09 kg. That makes it a dream on a strap for long gigs, and it also means the whole instrument moves unusually freely.
Underneath there's genuine Gibson tradition: mahogany body and neck, a SlimTaper neck in the 60s profile for fast, comfortable playing, a rosewood board with a 12" radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, cream binding and trapezoid inlays. The hardware is period-correct nickel — ABR-1 tune-o-matic, lightweight aluminium stopbar and Vintage Deluxe tuners with keystone buttons. The pickup covers come with a subtle factory patina to give it a touch of vintage feel.
That light, resonant mahogany body gives an airy, wiry core tone with immediate attack and real bite in the mids. The voice comes from two 60s BurstBucker humbuckers: moderately wound, dynamic and voiced vintage-correct. The neck sings warm and vocal without ever turning to mud, while the bridge brings that aggressive, cutting rock tone with a clear edge. Because the electronics are hand-soldered with Orange Drop capacitors, the sound stays open and defined as you roll the tone back — no loss of highs. Bell-like clean, creamy when pushed, and a biting slab wide open: this SG covers blues through classic rock to hard rock, and reacts very finely to your picking hand and the volume control.
New, the Gibson is €2,199. Here you get this limited Exclusive model in the rare Gold Mist colour, as new and with all its accessories, at a price you won't find again any time soon – if ever. It's currently sold out worldwide, incidentally. A real chance to pick up a special SG well below new price.
