This is no. 111 of the 250 Gibson Olive Drab Chris Cornell ES-335 Tributes. If you've had your eye on one of these in Olive Drab VOS, don't take too long over it. It's an as-new example from careful single ownership, sold on behalf of its owner at a fair price.
It was bought and picked out at Rockland Music in Witten as soon as the model appeared in 2019. At 3.75 kg, no. 111 is a pleasantly light one — and that's with a Bigsby on it.
The aged Lollartron humbuckers are the heart of the Chris Cornell Tribute. They sit beautifully with the Olive Drab satin finish and the VOS-aged hardware, and the whole thing looks the part. The Bigsby, the “no numbers” knobs and Cornell's signature on the headstock finish it off.
Looks aside, this is a guitar with real character. The pickups open up corners of the ES-335 that you don't normally get to, without burying what makes the design what it is. No surprise that the run is sought after by collectors and that you still see them on stage under working players.
If you're looking at this model you'll already know the specs and what they usually go for, so we'll leave it there and invite you to come and play it — just arrange a time. A fantastic guitar for players and collectors alike, and not one you'll stumble across again in this condition.
