A Giordano in the old '59 shape? You can't get that any more!
This '59 Single Cut was built in 2024 for a professional player and still has the original '59 body shape that Giordano no longer makes. That alone makes it a small rarity among Giordanos.
At only 3.63 kg it is super light and wears outstanding ageing, just as you know it from Giordano: a faded burst over the flamed maple top and wear in the nitro exactly where it belongs.
The pickups are a real exception: instead of the usual set, this one runs Kloppmann HB-PW, the signature PAFs of studio guitarist Peter Weihe. Andreas Kloppmann has known Peter Weihe since 1979, and Weihe's original 1958 Les Paul shaped Kloppmann's idea of Les Paul tone. After years of testing with Peter Weihe, this set came out of it, very close to an original late 1959/early 1960 PAF set. The pickups respond finely to picking and the volume pot, deliver clear cleans and singing leads up high, without the bass getting muddy. The Kloppmann certificate with serial numbers #5860 and #5861 is included.
This guitar has long proven it is no display piece: it went on tour with Ede and was used in the studio for the recordings of the new Höhner album, due out in 2027. A few impressions from the studio are in the photos.
The rest of the spec is uncompromising too: mahogany body and neck, bookmatched flamed maple top, celluloid nitrate inlays, Dunlop 6105 frets, PIO caps, Switchcraft jack and switch, Faber bridge and tailpiece and Kluson tuners.
A stage and studio guitar with a real story from Ede's Private Stock.
