This isn't a guitar out of a catalogue. This is Meister Ede's own instrument, specified down to the last detail together with Carsten Reetz of Limitless Custom Guitars, and it's still his main working guitar today.
When a builder and a player work on an instrument over a longer period, something different comes out than from an ordinary order.
The semi-hollow construction is the heart of it. The chambers aren't there to save weight but are placed deliberately to shape how the guitar moves. The result is a response you don't get from a solid instrument: immediate, percussive, and with a liveliness in the mids that gives the tone character straight away. Add a comfortable weight that's still welcome after three hours on stage.
The neck is a chapter of its own. A custom medium C, carbon-reinforced against changes in climate and built with a compound radius. Which means the board is more curved at the nut, making chords comfortable, and flattens towards the top so bends don't choke out. It's the kind of detail that's easy to skim over on paper and impossible to miss when you play.
The instrument carries Häussel humbuckers that can be split. Harry Häussel is among the best winders in Europe, and the combination of humbucker body with the option of dropping into genuine single-coil territory makes the guitar extremely flexible.
Ede's most distinctive working instrument, from the Private Stock.
