Suwak Custom Guitars are built by hand by Kawus Adni-Azar from the finest timber, and their standing in the boutique scene keeps growing — deservedly so. We're an official dealer for these instruments and work closely with Kawus to plan one-off builds for our customers. This new T-style is another one that stops you in your tracks: a bold, independent design meeting a combination of woods that wins you over straight away, in the hand and at the amp.
The wafer-thin Aztek Gold nitro comes in a tasteful “light aged” look with fine crackle and the lightest wear. Paired with that distinctive reverse headstock it gives the classic T shape a cool, rocky charisma. The reversed design isn't only cosmetic either: the changed string lengths behind the nut put more tension on the low E, which gives a crisp, tight bass foundation with fast attack, while the high strings bend more easily.
The body is cedro — Spanish cedar — a wood valued for how freely it vibrates, for its woody warmth and for its quick response. The neck is where it really gets interesting: made from padouk, both neck and fretboard, its reddish-brown colour draws every eye in the room. The back is finished in oil and wax and is immediately lovely to hold. With that substantial “medium fat D” profile it fills your hand properly, and together with the modern 12" radius and 22 perfectly dressed frets it plays beautifully.
On the scales this one comes to a solid 3.69 kg. That mass gives it plenty of sustain, a stable, substantial midrange foundation and real cut. At the neck there's a Häussel Pearl, warm and round with a bluesy side to it, and it splits very musically. At the bridge the Häussel Bigmag provides the foundation — P-90-style punch in Tele format — and thanks to the treble bleed it never loses its sparkle when you roll the volume back. That combination gives you excellent note separation, fast attack and a great deal of range. It's fresh out of the Suwak workshop and ready for the stage or the studio.
