Suwak Light Relic Strat 'Relic Ready' (2025, new)

Suwak Custom Guitars are built by hand by Kawus Adni-Azar from the finest timber. Meister Ede had been hearing good things about them for years, and as luck would have it a second-hand example came his way in 2024 that won him over completely. A few phone calls later the plan was in place to create custom orders for our shop. This is the second one to grace it.

Here's a beautiful S-style in a “Relic Ready” light aged Platin Silver nitro — a classy finish that manages understatement and a wow factor at the same time. The looks aren't the whole story either; it's built from lovely timber out of Suwak's well-stocked wood store.

The neck is a slimmer 4A flamed maple with a 12" radius and a nicely figured bocote board. Besides the superb C shape (a Suwak speciality) it's had an oil and wax treatment. We've rarely seen a maple neck with flame this deep and strong. Kawus went for a two-piece, air-dried US red alder body. The Platin Silver is sprayed wafer-thin in nitro, and look closely and you can already see very fine crackle.

The Häussel St-Classic single coils with a treble bleed sound superb alongside that first-class timber. The rest of the hardware is an ABM bridge and Kluson Vintage Magnum locking tuners. This understated Strat is anything but quiet once you plug it in: what reaches your ears is Strat sound, unfiltered, and it responds to the finest adjustments on the controls. At 3.54 kg it hits the weight many masterbuilt icons deliberately aim for. New, at a reduced introductory price.
